Storm Clouds Coming In

We have been having the strangest weather lately.  After unseasonably hot, humid days we are now experiencing cool weather with scattered showers popping up every couple of hours.  It makes it a little hard to plan outside activities but the clouds are just amazing.

So many of these scenes play out while I am driving home from school.  Only two weeks left now - with any luck I will be able to get a chance to take some of those shots that I've planned behind the wheel of my car!!

Doors

It was an unusually warm day yesterday, so when I got home from school I looked up this week's You Capture theme and out the door I went ....

The shed at the back of the yard was the easy shot.

But I then I saw this.  I used to clean it out each year but I've forgotten to do it and it was packed with bird feathers and leftover nest detritus.

This gate was the door to adventure when my children were young.  They would venture out into the woods and come back with a new story every time.

But this door is the one that welcomes me home.  And it's the sweetest one of all!

I almost forgot to get my You Capture photos posted this week.  I had hoped to have a little time to try my new speedlight out but that just didn't happen.

Roses and Heather

Had a lovely visit with some good friends Thursday evening.  How wonderful that Pat brought a beautiful bouquet of roses with a little heather and baby's breath! She made this vase over the summer at Haystack.  It will coordinate with the two mugs she gave me a few years back. 

 

And it all worked out so well that this week's You Capture was Still Life .....
